What to Expect: Microneedling Treatment

Microneedling is a safe, regenerative treatment that stimulates your skin’s natural healing process to improve tone, texture, and overall skin health. At Members Health Co, we offer advanced microneedling with the option to enhance your results using Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). Our goal is to support natural aging through gentle, regenerative treatments.

What Is Microneedling (and What Is PRP)?

Microneedling uses tiny, sterile needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These channels trigger the production of collagen and elastin, helping to reduce fine lines, scars, pigmentation, and uneven texture for smoother, firmer skin.

To enhance results, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) can be applied during your treatment. You may have heard this be called the “vampire facial”. PRP is derived from a small sample of your own blood that we spin down to extract the plasma, which is rich in growth factors that activate your body’s natural collagen production. This promotes faster healing, reduces inflammation, and improves overall skin quality using your body’s own healing mechanisms.

Not a candidate for PRP? We also offer microneedling with a professional-grade hydrating serum instead. Feel free to reach out to us if you are unsure which treatment is best for you!

What to Expect During the Treatment

  • Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, and a topical numbing cream is applied.

  • If using PRP, a small amount of your blood is drawn and processed before treatment.

  • The microneedling device is passed gently over the skin in sections, creating micro-injuries in the skin.

  • PRP or serum is applied during and after to maximize absorption and healing.

  • You may feel light pin pricks or vibration - often compared to the feeling of getting a mild tattoo. We can adjust the treatment to your comfort level.

Microneedling may NOT be for you if you:

  • Have used Accutane in the past 6 months

  • Have received filler in the past 3 months

  • Have received botox or a laser resurfacing treatment within the past month

  • Have open wounds, infections, or cold sores

  • Have active acne, rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis breakouts in the treatment area

  • Have a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring

  • Have bleeding/clotting disorders or are taking anticoagulants

  • Have certain blood-related conditions (hepatitis, HIV, cancers, autoimmune diseases, etc.)

  • Are uncomfortable with blood draw (PRP option only)

  • Are currently pregnant

What to Expect After the Treatment

  • First 24 hours: plan to stay home, treating your skin like an open wound for the first day.

  • Day 2 & 3: can resume regular activities but continue treating your skin like a fresh sunburn. Redness, sensitivity, and tightness are normal. Try to avoid the sun & heavy makeup use.

  • Mild flaking, dryness, bruising, or swelling may occur.

  • Skin usually begins to look and feel smoother within a week.

  • Results continue to build as collagen regenerates.

  • A series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is typically recommended.
